PiKo-1 PEF:
- Range 15 - 999 LPM (1 LPM resolution)
- Accuracy 5% or /- 20 LPM (whichever is greater)
FEV1:
- Range 0.15 - 9.99 liter (0.01 liter resolution)
- Accuracy /-3.5% or 0.1 liter (whichever is greater)

Standard Delivery
For orders under £40 in value we charge £3.49 for UK mainland delivery,
regardless of weight and size. The vast majority of orders (over 90%)
are despatched either on the same working day or the following working
day. A signature is required on receipt. Our standard delivery option
includes packaging, handling, delivery insurance and Royal Mail 1st
Class recorded delivery postal costs.
To ensure patient safety, private prescription orders are despatched via a
courier delivery service and are not eligible for free delivery.
For orders that weigh 25kg or more (and for every subsequent 25kgs) there
is an additional handling charge of £3.49 per 25kg. All other delivery conditions apply as above.

The battery slot is not easy to open and took me sometime to sort out how it would works. Brochure is not easy to understand, otherwise it's a very good product. ..

Very small and easily portable. Good display and good value for money. However, the first one I got was a long way out of calibration compared to my doctor's peak flow meter. It was quickly exchanged and the new one is much closer to my doctor's. Worth cross-checking the readings if you have access to professional equipment. Excellent follow-up service from Chemist Direct - recommended (second time around). ..

This is a useful bit of kit that you can comfortably carry in your pocket. I haven't got the software package but transfer data from the memory (96 readings) to an Excel spreadsheet and create my own charts. £20 for this item represents, in my view, excellent value. ..

Piko-1 Peak Flow Electronic Meter is small enough to slip into a pocket or handbag unlike traditional meters making it much easier to keep with you. For that reason alone, it's provided lots of valuable data that otherwise wouldn't have been taken.
The fact that it measures FEV1 is a big bonus as it is commonly held to be a better indicator of airway obstruction than PEFR (which it also measures).
The data store keeping the last 10 measurements is a nice idea in theory but in practice not too useful. The inability to differentiate between pre and post readings plus when they were taken means I still use a pen and paper. The ability to take the best of a set of readings would also help to make the data store useful.
For this reason, I haven't considered buying the optional software which is also a rather expensive £50 (although presumably it comes with an IRDA receiver to talk to the meter).
The only other niggle I've experienced so far is that sometimes I need to do a small blow to free up the sensor to get it to move freely otherwise I get a nonsensical first result. But I believe this should be resolved with a quick clean.
Overall, excellent value for money given that a mechanical meter that doesn't measure FEV1 is a similar price, but the data bank feature lacks the functionality to make it useful for me. ..
